"We had imported scallops from Japan a few years ago. However, when we were informed by other markets that some scallop-made sauce products were nuclear polluted, we stopped importing any aquatic and sauce products from Japan. You can only purchase local scallop-made sauce products in this market," he said.

The spokesman also introduced that the best sellers in this market are salmon, tuna, and scallops. All of these seafood are imported from America and Australia. A small amount of them are locally produced. "Seafood imported from Japan is too expensive, and local seafood has better quality and cheaper price. Therefore, people in Guangzhou prefer buying local seafood."

The most eye-catching seafood in the market, Boston Lobster, is imported from North America. Another popular seafood, King Crab, comes from Russia.
