As spring arrives, along both sides of Shuixiu 1st Road (水秀一路) in Hailong Subdistrict, Liwan District, the Chinese redbuds have bloomed, attracting many passersby to take photos. Walking along Shuixiu 1st Road, rows of Bauhinia trees compete to blossom along the Huadi River (花地河), with their pink-purple flowers covering the branches, shining brightly against the backdrop of the blue sky, creating a dazzling pink floral world.

Liwan Lake Park (荔灣湖公園)

Liwan Lake Park is one of the four major artificial lake parks in Guangzhou. Liwan Lake is mainly composed of four lakes: Xiaocui Lake (小翠湖), Yucui Lake (玉翠湖), Ruyi Lake (如意湖), and Wuxiu Lake (五秀湖). In addition to waterfront landscapes, Liwan Lake also features garden scenery, with lush trees and colorful flowers. Pavilions, terraces, and corridors are nestled among the green trees and blue waves, presenting a picturesque scene of Lingnan.

Huadiwan Park (花地灣公園)

As an open citizen park, Huadiwan Park is planned with five major scenic spots and more than ten pocket parks, forming an ecological corridor about 700 meters long. The exhibition section of the park is the starting point of Huadiwan Creek (花地灣河涌), located in the central area of southern Liwan District, connecting Huadiwan and the Pearl River, and is also an important node of the regional ecological corridor.

Guangchuan Riverside Park (廣船濱江公園)

Guangchuan Riverside Park, with remnants of shipyards such as docks, wharves, and cranes, gives both the cultural and educational characteristics of an industrial heritage park. The demonstration area of Guangchuan Riverside Park Phase I has been open for over two years, covering an area of about 23,000 square meters. It includes riverside squares, children's playgrounds, basketball courts, and leisure lawns, becoming a new urban destination for residents' daily leisure, entertainment, sports, camping, and check-ins.

Pocket Park at Chongwen 3rd Road (崇文三路口袋公園)

The park is themed as the "vibrant green heart of the city" and is also one of the integration pilot sites of the South China Botanical Garden (華南國(guó)家植物園) and urban parks. The park is planted with various ecological and interesting ornamental grasses, coupled with the setting of science popularization signs, allowing children to better understand these beautiful plants. In addition, there are activity projects themed around chemical elements, allowing children to learn scientific knowledge while playing.

Pocket Park at Liqin North Road (荔勤北路口袋公園)

The pocket park retains the large trees on the site, providing a small and beautiful shady playground for the surrounding residents. The core of the park is a depressed sponge green space, which can absorb rainwater from the surrounding area and significantly reduce the erosion of rainwater in the lower area during heavy rain.

There is a circular promenade around the sponge green space, as well as a track garden based on the position of the tracks of the former Guangzhou Iron and Steel Plant (廣州鋼鐵廠). It combines rugged and sturdy railway sleepers with natural and wild herbaceous plants to create a unique post-industrial landscape.

Pocket Park at Chongwen 5th Road (崇文五路口袋公園)

As a pocket park themed "past glory," it highlights the historical imprint of the Guangzhou Iron and Steel Plant. The park retains a large number of existing trees, which are preserved and integrated into the undulating and rich green hills, forming a huge ecological sponge subsidence green space. Combined with the design of the sponge water storage pool, it can fully absorb and store rainwater from the surrounding area, prevent urban water-logging, and use rainwater for green irrigation, combining ecological and economic benefits.

Pocket Park at Liqin South Road (荔勤南路口袋公園)

The pocket park, based on a long and narrow plot, has created a linear terrace-style park. The park preserves the existing Longmen lifting industrial relics, not only displaying the history and cultural background of the area but also highlighting the unique charm of the park.

There is also a special track garden in the park, which complements the surrounding natural environment. The planting of wild herbaceous plants and the design of weather-resistant steel retaining walls present a unique post-industrial style landscape throughout the park.
