Leena-Kaisa Mikkola, Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to China led a delegation of business representatives to Guangzhou in seeking cooperations with Guangdong's green industries on April 16. The delegation visited GIIHG and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Group) to gain insights into the development achievements of leading enterprises in Guangzhou.

"Guangdong plays an important role in bilateral relations, especially in foreign trade. Finnish companies are keen to have strong relationships with about 50 companies that are involved in clean energy, sustainable packaging, health, food and digitalization in Guangzhou and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA)," said Mikkola when visiting GIIHG Technology Industry Development Group Co., Limited (GIIHG) with her delegation.

Thirteen leading Finnish enterprises in the field of intelligent manufacturing, such as Nokia-Bell and ColloidTek, had business negotiations with GIIHG and sought further cooperation opportunities.

Mikkola pointed out that Finnish companies have advanced technology in digitalization and sustainability, which are major fields that Finland is eager to promote cooperation with Guangdong. The ambassador added, "Guangdong, as a friend of Finland, shares the same goal of realizing digitalization and sustainability in industrialization, making the two sides able to share knowledge and experience with each other."

She also expressed her expectations for strengthened tourism cooperation and exchanges between Guangdong and Finland, stating, "Finland is well-received in the Chinese tourism market, especially as a destination for winter leisure tourism. We welcome Chinese tourists to visit Finland and look forward to more Finns coming to China, enhancing mutual understanding between the two countries."
