On May 27, Guangzhou Liwan Central Hospital (formerly known as Liwan District People's Hospital of Guangzhou), in collaboration with the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, held the inauguration ceremony of Huadiwan Campus of Guangzhou Liwan Central Hospital and a large-scale health science popularization event.

Over 150 participants attended the ceremony, including Zhong Nanshan, Chinese Academy of Engineering academician and director of the National Respiratory Medicine Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, as well as officials from Liwan District, and participants from medical and health institutions, related cooperative units from Guangdong and Guangzhou.

Zhong emphasized at the inauguration that the collaboration between the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University and Liwan Central Hospital is an innovative initiative by Liwan District to promote the construction of a comprehensive medical and health experimental zone in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

"The comprehensive integration of medical services, education, research, information technology, talent, and culture will significantly enhance regional medical and health service capabilities, allowing people to enjoy higher-quality, more convenient, and efficient healthcare services," he said.

Wang Hongbin, Deputy Director of the Health Commission of Guangdong Province, stated that the official opening of the Huadiwan Campus is a substantial step towards building a regional medical highland in Liwan District. It also reflects the province's commitment to expanding and balancing high-quality medical resources.

Tan Minghe, Head of Liwan District, said, "Liwan Central Hospital should adhere to the principle of putting people's health at the center, deepen its integration and cooperation with the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, focus on quality, strengthen connotation, optimize services, and create unique features, striving to become a high-level hospital with advanced facilities, fine services, excellent medical skills, and public satisfaction, providing higher quality medical and health services for all people in the district."

After the inauguration ceremony, the attending leaders and guests visited the new Huadiwan Campus, gaining a detailed understanding of the construction of relevant departments, discipline advantages, and highlights of medical services. The Huadiwan Campus also held a large-scale health science popularization event, where several experts from departments such as Neurology, Urology, Rheumatology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Rehabilitation Center provided consultation and health education services to the public.
