The China (Guangdong) International Tourism Industry Expo 2024 (CITIE 2024) is set to take place in Guangzhou from September 13 to 15.

As a premier provincial exhibition, CITIE 2024 will feature a variety of themed exhibitions, and industry exchanges, and showcase the latest trends in tourism consumption. This year's event will span three exhibition halls: the International Culture and Tourism Hall, the Culture-Tourism Integration Hall, and the Culture and Tourism Consumption Experience Hall. The Expo will welcome exhibitors from nearly 50 countries and regions, as well as over 30 provinces and cities across China.

Guangdong Culture and Tourism Passport, a booklet for tourists

Serving as a vital platform for Guangdong's international tourism exchanges, CITIE provides a professional venue for global tourism destinations and cultural and tourism agencies to tap into China's tourism market. Notably, the Quality Europe Pavilion will return to CITIE, featuring cultural and tourism promotions from countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, and Croatia.

In addition, to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, as well as the China-Russia Culture Year, a special exhibition area dedicated to this theme will be established. For the first time, the "Light Luxury Adventure Exhibition Area" will introduce the "Safari" tourism mode, originally from Africa, aimed at fostering new business opportunities between China and Africa. Throughout the exhibition, there will also be various promotional activities highlighting the cultural and tourism offerings of Malta, Laos, Mexico, and Tanzania.

International airlines are also showing strong interest in the Expo, reflecting the recovery of the global aviation industry. Airlines such as Turkish Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, and Vietnam Airlines will participate, seeking to strengthen ties with the Chinese tourist market.

CITIE 2024 is not just a platform for global tourism exchange but also a celebration of economic vitality. As part of this event, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism will, for the fourth consecutive year, issue subsidy vouchers to the public. These vouchers will allow visitors to engage more deeply with the event, purchasing products and services at discounted rates from participating travel agencies, scenic spots, resorts, and art venues.

By bringing together global and local tourism stakeholders, CITIE 2024 underscores Guangdong’s role as a gateway to China's vibrant tourism landscape, fostering international collaboration and enhancing cultural exchange.
